It all started with a simple frustration — we couldn’t find an affordable work bag that was both stylish and practical. Our school and work bags were big and disorganised, and did not look professional. As we transitioned from university to work, we wanted something more professional — a bag that felt grown-up yet functional. That’s how SIORA was born — our dream of creating the perfect big girl bag that looks good, feels premium, and carries you confidently through every part of your day and the different seasons in life.

Designing our dream big girl bag wasn’t easy — we had no formal design or drawing background, so sketching out our ideas felt like a real challenge. We traveled to places like Thailand and Korea, exploring markets and stores, studying different bags, and noting the features we loved (and the ones we didn’t). We wanted easy access without zips, a secure magnetic flap, a laptop compartment, and smaller compartments for everyday essentials. It was a journey of trial, error, countless disappointments, and most importantly, lots of learning. Despite so, every step brought us closer to creating our dream bag and we thoroughly enjoyed the process.

Next came the hunt for high-quality materials and a trusted manufacturer that could understand our vision and actualise it. We spent months choosing the right fabrics, colours, measurements, and testing how each material affected the structure of the bag. To make sure it worked in real life, we carried the bags to work for months, testing every feature in our daily routines. After countless rounds of samples and adjustments, we finally finalised a bag we were truly proud of.

With the bag ready, we poured our hearts into the final branding, content creation, and building the website. It was our first time creating social media marketing content, filming videos, and doing a proper photoshoot. We also had to figure out how to build a website from scratch, manage logistics like shipping and packaging, and handle every operational details ourselves. Every step was a learning curve, full of trial and error, late nights, and lots of “how do we even do this?” moments. But through it all, we made sure every detail reflected SIORA's ethos: effortless style and everyday confidence.
